In February 2023, Turkey was hit by an M7.8 earthquake, which caused extensive damage due to collapsed buildings. 

 

F.I.T. House's first overseas prototype was constructed in Antakya, Turkey. The SIP panels were manufactured locally with the cooperation of a local manufacturer. The panels were designed according to the local manufacturer's standard OSB dimensions, using 4x8 ft panels to build a 2.4 x 2.4m and height 2.4m structure. The exterior walls were painted with waterproof paint and the roof was covered with a membrane. A presentation of the F.I.T. House was held at the local city hall, and discussions of the advantages of building with wood were made.
